What is Public Health?

Public Health is defined as “the art and science of preventing disease, prolonging life and promoting health through the organized efforts of society” (Acheson, 1988; WHO).

“Public health is the science of protecting and improving the health of people and their communities. Key Findings  of The National Nutrition Survey 2011

According to a survey conducted by National Nutritional Survey (NNS) in 2011, almost 58% of Pakistanis are food insecure. (..) A representative of the World Food Programme (WFP) said, “The situation has gone from bad to worse especially in Sindh where malnutrition and food insecurity among women and children has increased.”
